Explanation: The Americans were able to secure victory over the British for the following reasons:

1. The settlers were showing their discomfort with the English for the continuous abuses in the establishment of taxes without them being able to count on any representation in parliament.

2. There were several demonstrations against English politics, among the most famous, that of the Tea Mutiny.

3. The situation was getting worse and the first fighting began. At the beginning things were not favorable for the settlers, but they had resistance power against the English soldiers for a long time and despite the hostilities of the attacks they received, they were able to get ahead.

4. With the fortification of Dorchester Heights hill, the settlers focused on transporting artillery, which they had obtained during clashes with the English for their operations. This action caused the English soldiers to evacuate Boston and begin the arduous task towards the path of Independence, which finally took place on July 4, 1776.
