    C. A literacy rate that more than doubled.

    Explanation:

Kenyans had access to education since the mid 1700s. It uses a Competency Based Curriculum (CBC) 2-6-3-3.

The Competency Based Curriculum introduced in 2017 was designed by the Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development (KICD) for the sole purpose of producing intelligent, intellectually empowered and ethical citizens.

Under CBC, students will now spend two (2) years in Nursery, six (6) years in primary (Class 1-6), three (3) years in junior secondary (Class 7, 8 and 9), three (3) years in senior secondary (Class 10, 11 and 12) and three (3) years in university.

Among all the children in Kenya, about 85% attend primary school while 75% of those who complete primary education move further to secondary schools and 60% of those students who complete secondary school move further to tertiary institutions.

The government of Kenya instituted a free primary and secondary education program for all children, it was also made compulsory.

Hence, it has given rise to a literacy rate that more than doubled.
