Why did Andrew Jackson oppose a United States Bank?

A. He could not select a city in which to build it and wanted that authority.

B. He saw Congress as too corrupt to run it and believed it was unconstitutional.

C. He thought only Maryland should have a bank because it had the first one.

D. He wanted to borrow money from other countries to develop alliances.

    Andrew Jackson stopped all deposits by the federal government into the Bank of the United States because he felt the bank empowered Congress and the national elite. Jackson favored the common man and distrusted too much power in the hands of government. The monies removed from the national bank were deposited in the state banks. The answer is B.
