    Question - What reason best describes why farmers in new england stopped farming and turned to fishing?

    Answer - A. The soil was thin and rocky which made it difficult to clear land for crops.

    Why - In New England the soild was very rocky and thin and it was hard for the farmers to make clear space to grow grops so thats why they moved to fishing.
