During the period of 1600 Jamestown was much more fever down in my view because of the following reasons:-

1) Settlement of Jamestown around the Bank of the James River was very profitable for people who would settle in this place and settlements are around rivers were very favourable during this time.

2) The art of Science from Poland and Germany were coming to this place to make settlements hence would enhance trading.
