Several changes came into being in Japan after the World War II under the new government.

Women were allowed to vote under the new government. After World War II, under the new government, Japan was allowed to be a part of the worldwide protection allies.

Japan was also allowed to be a part of the international defense blocks which meant that Japan could not take part in war. Japan was also not allowed to maintain an armed force. Because of the new constitution and government, US was also allowed to maintain military bases in Japan.
