In this treaty, they forced Germany to take full responsibility for the war. Along with this, they forced Germany to pay millions of dollars in reparations to Britain and France. These punishments devastated the Germany economy. Ultimately, the punishments from World War I would lead to the rise of Hitler, as he promised to restore Germany to its former glorious state.
