How did the comstock lode affect the western part of the united states?

    It greatly transformed the west as it was the first major silver deposit discovered in United States of the America. It brought a large number of miners west and provided them with a job. This discovery is credited for starting the silver rush in the United States the biggest rush since the gold rush of 1849 that happened in California.
