The trigger for the Mexican Revolution was when Porfirio Diaz who was president at the time failed to organize a successful presidential succession and the elites were competing with each other as well as the farmers wanted to plan an agrarian revolution. Following this, Francisco Madero cheated out of the 1910 election and ignored the Plan of San Luis Potosi which stated that the Diaz government was illegitimate, and Madero was named as provisional president, called for democracy and called for all lands taken unjustly from farmers be handed back. This is a snippet of the armed conflict and what took place during the Mexican Revolution.
