    I think the correct answer is A. Historians still are not sure, but they think it was probably malaria that killed him.

    There is not enough evidence to reach an exact conclusion, but scientists believe that he died after contracting malaria. B and C are not mentioned anywhere, and one of the possible interpretations of his death is that he was murdered, but not exactly shot in the head because guns didn't exist at the time.
