What are two motives that encouraged spain to establish colonies in the americas

    I think The number of reasons is three.

    Gold, God, and Glory.

    Gold=Economical resources.

    God=To spread religion.

    Glory=To create influence over other neighbors.

    But normally the spreading religion part is ignored.

    So economic development & political empowerment are the reasons.
