In the salem witchcraft trials of 1692, hundreds of people were accused of witchcraft, yet only five were convicted and killed. Almost 150 people, mostly women, were accused of witchcraft. Luckily, no one was put to death for being a witch. After discerning "which witch was which," three witches were executed.
