Washing was the first president in America who played crucial roles in reforming the country even though the British questioned his leadership. However, is was the only person who knew that the army was about to collapse. He, therefore, defend the congress's demands of launching an attack of the British in Philadelphia instead of falling back in the valley.
Consequently, he went ahead and started the war, and he provided the men with healthy food; the congress was not able to offer.
