John Locke was a British political philosopher of the Enlightenment Era. One of Locke's most notorious thoughts on politics was that each and every person is born with certain rights, that are property, life and liberty.

One of the Foundation Fathers, and later on the third President of the United States, Thomas Jefferson, used this concept created by John Locke and included it in the Declaration of Independence. He gave this set of rights the name of of "Unalienable Rights".
