    Cyrus the Great, who was also named Cyrus II, was born between 590-589 BC in Media. He was the first Persian leader and became the first king of the Persian Empire.

    His biggest accomplishment was the conquest of Babylonia. Cyrus was able to easily conquest Babilonia, among other things, because the citizens from this city were completely opposed to their governor.

    He was the ruler of the largest and most extended empire of his time.

    Cyrus known as the Great, became the leader of the nomad group of Persians and some Iranian, he reunited the Persians under one rule and stablished the Persian Empire.

    Between his accomplishments are the conquering of the Medes empire, the western part of Iran's territory, the liberation of the Jews from Babylonian Captivity and the permission for them to go back home. He also promulgated the charter that is considered to be one of the first declaration of human rights, found in a cylinder by archaeologists, called Cyrus Cylinder.
