Confucius teachings were focused on two areas. One is his social teachings and the other is his political teachings. He was a natural born teacher that believed in the power of education. He believed that self-mastery will be achieved when one learns and dwells in gaining knowledge through scholarship and study.

Confucius believed that all the knowledge he had learned were not new and merely came from the past and people just need to relieve at present. His social teachings focused on how people's behaviors affect his society and his fellow men. He believed that in order to be good, people must remember how to act compassionate towards his fellow men. "What you do not wish for yourself, do not do to others," was his key focused in teaching compassion.

His political teachings focused on the art of governance and how to rule accordingly. Confucius believed that society will function effectively if each and every human being knows exactly his role and plays it well. He stated: "Good government consists in the ruler being a ruler, the minister being a minister, the father being a father, and the son being a son." You do not wish to play a role that does not suit your being, otherwise it would create chaos.
