The reason why Brutus participated in the assassination plot against Caesar in his soliloquy is because Brutus thinks Caesar may abuse his power if he becomes a king. Caesar is a wise, strong, and powerful person that can kill anyone. Brutus did not want him to become a king because he knew that he is capable to abuse his power.
