How do you think the postwar feelings in America influenced the election of 1920?

    Numerous American citizens died in the war and this resonated with the people very poorly. They disliked the fact that they participated in a war in Europe that had almost nothing to do with them and that people died for something that was not connected to the United States. Although Wilson wanted to stay close to Europeans, his opposition got more support due to their isolationist policies which is why he lost.

    One of the major ways in which postwar feelings in America influenced the election of 1920 was that it caused people to want to elect a more "isolationist" president, since the American people were highly wary of getting involved in another european military conflict.
