    Answer: The correct answer is : This crisis also received the name Crisis of the Caribbean, occurred in 1962 and lasted 13 days the confrontation between the Soviet Union and the United States. The Americans tried to end the government of Fidel Castro in Cuba but failed in their attempt. The Soviet leader Khrushchev spoke secretly with Castro and installed nuclear missiles in Cuba to defend them from another possible attack by the United States. American intelligence discovered the missiles and President Kennedy made public the discovery, but decided not to invade Cuba but to send the army and the air force to surround the missiles. Kennedy proposed not to invade Cuba if the Soviets withdrew the missiles, the Soviet leader accepted the proposal.

    The Cuban missile crisis was when the soviets sent missiles to Cuba because they were a 'communist' society because of Castro. This meant the USA had to sent a message and had the soviets removed, this showed we were still showing imperialistic tendencies
