The objective of this statement is to say whether the information is true or false, the answer is that this statement is False.

    Explanation

The Cook Islands started to be considered a British protectorate in 1888 and was annexed in 1900 and made a part of the dominions of Her Britanic Majesty. The islands were included within New Zealand's boundaries in 1901.

However, in the year 1965 was when the Cook Islands achieved self-government being identified as a New Zealand dependency and not in 1900 as the paragraph states, that is why the answer is False.
