Explain what the two bar graphs covering aircraft manufacturing on the previous slide tell you about US wartime production compared to that of Germany and Japan. Why do you think this is the case?

    Germany and Japan both made more aircraft than the US in 1939. The United States was making far more aircraft than Germany and Japan combined by the end of the war. The United States had a huge production advantage by the end of the war. The United States had not fully mobilized for wartime production in 1939. Japan and Germany may have suffered war damage that hurt their production.
