Party ideas merged after the War of 1812--issues concerning the Federalist party either disappeared or the Democratic-Republicans agreed with them so they no longer needed to exist.

The time after the War of 1812 from 1816 to 1828 is referred to as the Era of Good Feelings. The US moved to a one party system with everyone being a Democratic-Republican or Nationalist Republican (same group). Everyone agreed the country needed to industrialize and all politicians began moving the US that direction with a new bank and money for roads, canals, and eventually railroads.
