Under British rule, the king and Parliament of Great Britain controlled the colonies. A hierarchical system divided the population into distinct social classes. Which phrase from the Declaration of Independence attempted to change this practice in the United States?

    The frase used in the Declaration of Independence that attempted to end the hierarchical system of distinct classes is:

    "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness." (quote, Declaration of Independence, 1776)

    This way, the Declaration of Independence makes all americans equals, not ruled by a King, and states Goverments' sole purpose is to secure the rights of life, liberty and pusuit of hapiness. It declares Goverments ' powers derive from the governed people consent and therefore, if it doesn't fulfil its purpose, the people has the right to alter or abolish it.
