As Buddhism spread in China during and after the period of disunion, some Chinese resisted and disliked its influence. Why do u think that might be?

    Critics of Buddhism saw it as an immoral religion which was unsuitable for China and also as a threat to the state as most of its monastery lands were not taxed.

    Buddhism is a religion originated from India and spread to China in the first century ad. It is the fourth world largest religion that has over 500 million believers and followers. This religious belief holds a variety of traditions, spiritual practices and beliefs. It is a universal religion that accepts all people despite their ethnicity or social standing in the society. This means that Buddhism is a religion that does not discriminate.

    Buddhism believes in a common goal of alleviating sufferings and also believe in the cycle of death and rebirth through blowing out or quenching or by attaining buddhahood. The Chinese form of Buddhism is one of the oldest in history and it is a combination of Taoism and Mahayana Buddhism.

    The main or core belief of Buddhism is the three basic teachings that Buddhism has 3 universal truths, has four noble truths and lastly has eight fold path.
