The main problem of the 13 Colonies with Britain was actually more economical than anything else, and it is easily demonstrated when the new Crown laws, taxes, and restrictions on production and manufacturing, were the triggers of the protests that ended up at the Tea Party, and the consequent Boston Massacre. The ideologies of the Colonies themselves were different from British ideas, but they had been tolerant until Britain began to raise taxes on its war with France, and when the economic laws imposed on the Colonies were too many, and the Colonists wanted independence for be owners of their products and raw materials, then the real dispute began.
