About 20 million years! This is because the Red Sea formed due to two major phases on land motion. This is the movement of Africa moving away from Arabia around 55 million years ago, and later, the gulf of suez opening up 30 million years ago. Those major movements caused the formation of the Red Sea 20 million years ago.
