How did boers living in the southern region of africa typically treat native africans

    This mostly depends on the time period, but at first they respected them and shared land with them, even though they didn't consider them to be equal. Later, after the British rule and the Anglo-Boer wars, the policy of apartheid was adopted by the boers too and when they came into political power they continued it which made them much more conservative and horrifying towards the locals.
