Both places, Florida and Netherlands lie very close to the sea level and the rising sea level is threatening the coastal areas of the both these places.

However, Netherlands is actually fare better equipped to handle global warming and rising sea levels. Cities such as Amsterdam and Rotterdam were literally developed around the a dam, hence their name.

The cities have been constantly investing in improving these dams and other defences to protect the city. Florida, has not developing anything similar and faces massive threat to the coastal areas.
