People have the right to form their own governments, and the best form of government is a democratically elected one.

People have certain natural rights, and they have the right to overthrow any government that does not respect these rights.

Great Britain is too far away to govern the colonies effectively because the most effective governments are local governments.

    The answer is C.

    Thomas Jefferson, along with other founding fathers, believed human beings had certain rights which came from birth. This is why he wrote: "We hold these truths to be self evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness". Therefore, withing this natural unalienable rights, men have the right to pursue happiness by choosing their own way of government.
