    Explanation:

    When the British Parliament passed a series of acts from the 1760s to 1770s the American Colonies decided to protests against these taxes which eventually led to the American Revolution. The Colonies felt they were being obliged to pay these taxes at the same time they did not have any representation on the British Parliament. Because of that, the motto "no taxation without representation" was created.
