Why did Virginia become a royal colony?

There was conflict with local American Indians and poor management by the Virginia Company.

The only type of colony at the time was a royal colony.

The colonists wanted the king to exercise more control over them.

    In 1624, the Virginia company's charter was revoked by The King of England. The Virginia colony was transferred to royal authority as a crown colony. This happened because tobacco became Virginia's first profitable export, and the production of it had a very big impact on Virginia and it's settlement patterns.
