How did Constantinople become the center of the Byzantine Empire?

    Constantine moved it because Rome was getting invaded by the barbarians

    The city was founded as Byzantium. It was renamed Constantinople. When the roman emperor Constantine i moved his capital there from Rome. As for the capital of the Byzantium Empire, Constantinople became a great culture, economic, religious, and administrative center.
