At present, Israel has yet to adopt the two-state solution suggested by the United Nations in 1947.

The United Nations voted 33-13 in 1947 to divide the Palestine into two independent states, one Jewish and one Arab but an independent and sovereign state has yet to be realised which is not accepted by Israel

Today, the Palestinian Liberation Organization is no longer the sole voice of the Palestinian people.

The Palestinians have most recently approached the United Nations in attempt to have their grievances addressed.
