The factory system of early 19th century caused several changes in the way the industry was settled.
Even today, there are many discussions among authors regarding the positive and negative aspects of these changes.
There is a group that states that the factory system is one of the contributions of the industrial revolution with the beginning of rationalisation and division of work as well as the need os supervising a large number of employees.
The negative aspects mentioned by another group of authors are the denial of the human aspect with the main focus on the employer's profit through large scale production. We can use as examples the use of child labor and women being underpaid when compared to men working in similar functions.
