What made american society far more equal than britain but seemingly less equal than ithad been in the 17th century?

    Americans were more egalitarian than Britain people. They firmly believe and live based on the principle that all people are equal and deserve equal rights and opportunities. They didn't have an aristocracy or high class or elites.

    In the 17th century most of the people in America were immigrants and yet to make their fortune. However, by the late 18th century people of the society had access to better education and had a higher standard of living.
