What were the new forms of technology that propelled the industrial revolution

    Communication, transportation, and industry had important technological advancements during the industrial revolution.

    Communication:

    In 1836, Samuel Morse invented the telegraph. That eventually progressed into the first telephone in 1876, created by Alexander Graham Bell.

    Transportation:

    The steam engine created by James Watt in 1775, paved the way for building factories when no water power was available due to his new mechanism for powering machines. That eventually led to the creation of the automobile industry in 1892.

    Industry:

    Other items created during the industrial revolution were, the cotton gin and the sewing machine. Another huge industrial advancement was Thomas Edison harnessing electricity in order to create the first light bulb in 1879.
