How did the European colonists view themselves

    most settlers in North American English colonies declared that they were entitled to the same rights as other English subjects and that they were protected by English common law. Because of this, they felt no obligation to follow the rules and tradition that being held in north American region, and they felt that they could act as the new owner of the regions.
