    The uprising of loyal Chinese against outsiders was called the Boxer Rebellion.

    They fought against the disperse of the influence of Japanese and Western. The people rebelling were called the Boxers, considering they destroyed land that was not theirs, and also killed innocent foreigners. The groups that started the rebellion were the Harmonious Fists and the Society of Righteous. They soon began to destroy churches and kill Christians. The dynasty soon called for war.
