What affected the 3 fifths compromise have on Southern states

The 3/5ths compromise affected the southern states in their favor. Since there were so many slaves in southern states, that didn't count as part of the population. The 3/5ths compromise gave southern states more representation because it counted 3 out of every 5 spaces as part of the population.
