How did world war 2 contribute to the formation of the iron curtain

After World War II, the world only had two superpowers left. These were the United States and the Soviet Union.

This, in essence, split the world into supporters of the US and capitalism and supporters of the Soviet Union and communism.

The Iron Curtain refers to the block of countries allied with the Soviet Union that lived behind a wall of communism.
