After the Civil War ended, how was the North affected economically?

    The North was affected dramatically in a negative way because the South had won the fight for slavery to be ended. Therefore the North would no longer be profitting from the luxury of slavery "as before". This would cause a decline in the business of slave trading and share cropping on plantations.
