Can you run for President of the United States without being affiliated with a political party

    I believe you can run for president as an independent, meaning that you can develop your own political party rather than running within a larger one (such as the Republican Party, Democratic Party, etc.). However, the problem with starting a new political party is that you have very few supporters, because nobody is sure that the party will be successful.
