    The Japanese intrusion of Manchuria started on September 18, 1931, when the Kwantung Army of the Empire of Japan attacked Manchuria quickly taking after the Mukden Incident. The Japanese built up a manikin state called Manchukuo, and their occupation kept going until the finish of World War II.
