How did religion play a role in the development of Nazi Germany?

Religion played a role in Nazi Germany but as with so many other aspects of life in the state, religion became the 'property' of the government with the introduction of the Reich Church.

Annelies Marie Frank, famously known as Anne Frank (June 12, 1929, - February 1945) was a perfect example ... she wrote a diary about how Jews killed and punished people. She was taken to Bergen-Belsen concentration camp where she died from Typhus fever.
