Why did so many Native American peoples adopt Christianity in Latin America during the 1500s?

a. Missionaries joined Native American tribes and encouraged them to convert.

b. Many Native Americans married Spanish colonists and adopted the religion of their husbands and wives.

c. The pope required that the Spanish monarchs make the conversion of native peoples to Christianity a priority during colonization.

d. Native Americans wanted to increase their ability to trade with the Spanish colonists, and saw religion as a way to achieve that aim.
