The Cultural Renaissance was a movement that began in Italy in the 14th century and spread throughout Europe until the 16th century.

Renaissance artists, writers and thinkers expressed in their works the values, ideals and new worldview of a society emerging from the crisis of the medieval period.

In the Middle Ages, much of the intellectual and artistic production was linked to the Church. Already in the Modern Age, art and knowledge turned to the concrete world, to humanity and its capacity to transform the world.
