    It was the availability of new lands for farming or letter B. The West was vast and many Americans wanted to plant crops there. At first, they were prevented from expanding westward but when Andrew Jackson became President, he began the policy of relocating Indians and distributing the land to white farmers. Many Americans began to flow into the West and eventually settled there.
