The three-fifths compromise and the commerce and slave trade compromise were included in the constitution at the insistence of the southern states. why did states in the south think these items were important and what price, if any, did southern states pay for their inclusion?

    They did that because they thought that their citizens thout h/that they would be treated a secondary citizens.
