    The governments of Italy, the Soviet Union, and Germany had several things in common in the

    interwar years. All three governments were corrupt. Leaders would often seek to seize power during times of vulnerability. All three governments used propaganda and censorship in schools and newspapers. The governments had followers that were influenced by an extreme sense of nationalism. People who opposed the government were shut down because leaders refused to allow criticism of the government.
