What was the main goal of the Truman Doctrine and Marshall Plan? How did they hope to accomplish this goal in different ways?

However, Truman law established that the United States would provide political, military and economic assistance to all democratic nations under threat from external or internal authoritarian forces. The purpose of the Marshall Plan was to aid in the economic recovery of nations after World War II and to reduce the influence of Communist parties within them.
